FILTHY SCHOOL BECOMES UNBEARABLE FOR SOUTH LOS ANGELES STUDENTS
Seniors are promoting a clean school to ensure a better learning environment
Tech Tuesday: Explore the Foshay Spirit
March 24th from 10:34 a.m. - 11:18 a.m.
Foshay Learning Center
3751 S. Harvard, Los Angeles, CA 90018
The Tech Academy 12th graders at Foshay Learning Center have started an advertising campaign and will host an event at their school where they will work with their peers to bring attention to solutions to problems in their community. One of the biggest problems at their school is the piles of trash that no one seems to notice. The group FLC Clean Up has taken this problem into their own hands and is attempting to solve this issue.
On Tech Tuesday they plan on promoting the importance of a clean environment to their education and creating a culture where picking up trash is normal.Their activity will include handing out gloves and asking students to pick up 10 pieces of trash which will equal a couple slices of pizza. However in a collaboration with three other groups, students will need to complete the other activities in order to receive their prize.
FLC Clean Up hopes to leave the students and staff feeling better about their school and motivated to keep it clean.
